I just moved to North County SD from Orange County and I used to love going to Brodards for their spring rolls! I was very excited to find this gem less than a mile from my apartment! Their Grilled Pork Ball Spring Roll even be better than Brodards! The veggies they use taste much fresher and the dipping sauce it comes with is much more flavorful. The Pho was also delicious, the broth was perfect, not too bland or too salty. I'll definitely be coming back.

I love this place; it's my new favorite Vietnamese place in San Marcos. I wished they offered noodle entrees, but either way, the chicken and rice plates are delicious! I love the restaurant decor and the vibe of the place itself. It's like a modern, hip Vietnamese restaurant. Can't wait to come back!

I love the pho and rice vermicelli here. Very pretty place! I have recommended this to my friends and they said that they have enjoyed this place as well. Great vegetarian options. The place is a bit hidden by ralphs, but it wouldn't be a problem.

My wife and I really enjoyed the seafood pho. The broth was clean and amazingly flavorful. I couldn't quite figure out the menu, in case I wanted to order a pho other than what was listed on the menu. Regardless, the service was great, and the pho was delicious, although a little more pricey than comparable places in Mira Mesa.

This place is amazing the food has been amazing every single time I come here and Reese is a great waiter plus super cute and the rest of the sevice is great as well.

  • *****

Best and closest place to get Pho if you're a student at cal state San Marcos. I'm so happy I don't have to go to the other side of town to get a quick bowl of pho anymore

    In a list:

Reasonably priced (most items are around $10); it offers discounts for students; it is in across from the school (which is extremely convenient); All of their dishes are high quality; they have fast Wifi; I could go on.

  • *****

Absolutely delicious! The broth on the Pho was amazing, customer service was a little slow, but they delivered a solid meal.

Was in San Marcos for a short vacation, my sister in law recommended this place and I agree with her - solid stop for Pho!

  • *****

I love this place because they have great food, and have many options for everyone. What I love about this restaurant is they have Vegan options. They have several items that I enjoy ordering, and I am not stuck with ordering just the Vegetable Pho dish every single time. The food is also priced well, and the team at the restaurant are always friendly and goes out of their way to please. Food is always tasty and on point, and two thumbs up for having plant based selections for Vegans. :)

I live right across the street from here and so happy I found a close and exquisite pho restaurant! It provides great service as well as delicious pho, you can even make your own pho bowl! It's pretty exciting, definitely recommend coming here

I like the boba drinks. The smoothes are delicious and healthy. I am extremely healthy person. I go to the gym everyday. I am always trying to eat healthy.

    Good food!

Have eaten several times at this joint located next to Cal State San Marcos; every time the service was great and very attentive, but most importantly the food was absolutely excellent. We have tried phos, their rolls (both spring and "regular"), rice and vermicelli entrees and have not had a bad experience yet. Also the prices are very affordable (a refreshing note from other nearby locations that cost twice as much...). Definitely worth a visit, whether with friends, family or a date.

We had a great experience there last night when we drove by the area. Food was delicious (we ordered Hu Tieu My Tho - dry version with broth soup ? on the side) and service was absolutely pleasant. In addition, it was a really nice surprise to walk into such a well thought out design that takes you back to Vietnam with a modern twist. How refreshing and un-PHO-gettable! Cheers ?

  • *****

Great to eat here! Really enjoyable and feel that I'm in Vietnam! It's also closed to my CSUSM

  • *****

The best chicken pho soup. I call prior to them being open and they still answer the phone and take my order! Thank you for the excellent service and great food

  • *****

Best pho in this area, very good consistently tasty beef broth. Also tried their vermicelli noddle (bun) dish and they were also tasty. This place is cleaner than probably 95% of the pho restaurants out there. Prompt service, fair prices, and decent alcohol choices. I go here about every other week. My 4 year old loves it too.

  • *****

I came here yesterday, the facility is very nice! I did not have anything special. I ordered the Chicken Pho, it was alright. Personally I feel that it lacked Chicken in the soup as there was not a lot physically in the soup. Overall the experience was good and the soup was tasty.

  • *****

Great food and service. Always friendly staff and the food comes out quick. Good size menu.

  • *****

Boy I sure those Egg Rolls taste goog

  • *****

I love this place! I think it's the Best Pho place in North County. Also a great atmosphere.

Awesome food at reasonable prices & terrific service with a smile!

Excellent service, very accommodating. And the food is delicious

Today Was My 1st Time At Chef's Pho & Grill. I Loved It! I Got The Seafood Pho Which Was Delicious And The Service Was Great! Really Nice People. I'm Not Sure If The Guy Who Helped Me Was The Manager Or The Owner But He Was SUPER Helpful & Even Let My Boyfriend & I Try The Egg Rolls! Which Were Great Also. I Look Forward To Coming Back Very Soon! (-:

Haven't ventured out to much pho in the area, but this place is really good and a great price for what you get! I've tried the seafood pho here, and they really pack your bowl with seafood! The broth is really flavorful and not bland like some places I've tried. The small is a perfect size to fill you up. I've also tried the northern crab soup which was amazing! Love that they have other options than pho. Have yet to try the banh mi's or rice dishes, but I'm so impressed!

The set up is so cute and hipstery (almost made me scared this wouldn't be authentic) - but it definitely surprised me!

  • *****

I ordered out here once and dined in another time and both times were super delicious. Only tip for those ordering out would be to not order meats uncooked. By the time we got home the broth wasn't hot enough to cook the meat properly. We had to reheat it but it was still delicious.

This is officially my favorite pho restaurant in North County! The food is delicious and very authentic, the decor is modern and nice, and the restaurant is very clean! When we first started coming here about a year ago, the service was their weakness. They were slow and inattentive, but man their food kept bringing us back. However, their service improved noticeably every time we came, and I would say that their service is now fantastic, especially since the owner Jackie is very involved with the day-to-day activities. Also Reese, who has been there since the beginning, provides standout service and is a model for the rest of the staff. Keep it up guys! You rock!

  • *****

Myself as well as a few classmates decided to eat here during our lunch break because they have pho. Iv'e had some great pho and I've had some bad pho; this place ranks up there with pretty good pho. The menu wasn't too extensive and had pretty straightforward options( and other things besides pho). The food was enjoyable. The food was out pretty quickly and our server, REESE was awesome. He made some good suggestions as we had never been there and was attentive and helpful. Thanks Reese! Not a bad spot for lunch.

  • *****

Really good service and food! Our server, Reese, was very nice and attentive. Checked in with us often, and was very personable! Thank you, we will be back :)

  • *****

Jackie and his staff are on point. So easy to talk to. Super friendly. The 'Com ga nuong' with egg--delicious.

  • *****

Very tasty and very student budget friendly. The staff is helpful and the portions are always generous.

  • *****

I have eaten at this restaurant about three times. Each time there has never been a wait to be seated. We have always been able to sit in a booth. The restaurant itself has a pretty modern decor for a pho restaurant. They even have a nice bar area in the front. Last time I dined here though they still had not received their liquor license so I'm not sure if the bar is even in use yet haha.

The menu has a pretty good selection of traditional Vietnamese items. Of course they have pho and beef stew, different meat options of spring rolls and lots of rice/ meat entrees. The beef spring rolls were very yummy and for me we're filling enough as an entree. But they're great to be shared as an appetizer with a group. The pho is good, tastes like any other pho place to be honest. I do feel that the prices are a little higher than other pho places within the area. You're paying more for the service and atmosphere though. The wait staff is usually pretty nice here and they're also attentive when it comes to checking in if you need anything.

Overall, I would recommend dining here. Good pho, good service and a nice modern decor.

  • *****

I love the quality of the food and this may sound weird but they have the best water lol I'll what kind of filtration system they have but everyone I've taken there has mentioned the water quality is superb. I've never had a bad meal and neither has my family. We love that they offer a great beer menu as well. I usually get the seafood pho, the bun or a BBQ pork sandwich and every time it's absolutely delicious.
The menu is concise but I like that they have perfected all their dishes as opposed to other places with novels for menus and subpar food.

(Also that Jen L lady who commented and gave a 1 star rating and a 4 cent tip sounds like a real piece of work. I've worked in hospitality for years and anyone who leaves a 4 cent tip is a douche bag so disregard her post all together. This isn't a fancy place but in my opinion it's awesome)

  • *****

Love this place more and more! They have a lot of special noodle soups and they're all delicious - bun Rieu, beef stew noodle soup, bun bo Hue, clear glass noodle soup, etc. All of them plus their regular pho were good.

Also don't forget to get the spring roll with pork. So good! Just hope one day they'll make the special shrimp dipping sauce (nem nuong) like how brodards does it and then it'll be purrrfect! Also the spring rolls prices are on the high side...

Great service. Reasonable prices overall. Good atmosphere. We are regulars!

  • *****

Good and fresh pho. Friendly service. I've had pho in many locations throughout Los Angles and this can call itself one of the best even from a small town like Sa Marcos. The deep fried egg rolls are not greasy which means the oil was hot enough- something missing at a lot of restaurants. The shrimp is fresher than all of the more expensive restaurants in North County and is cooked just right

    Worth a visit

  • *****

First impression of this place is very modern to today's design style. Of course there is a touch of the mural on the back wall, it was very inviting.

I have eaten various Vietnamese places for the last 10 years so the menu was very standard BUT my favorite thing to order is the Vietnamese pork meatball. I love them in spring rolls compared to the ordinary shrimp. This location makes the pork meatballs fresh and in house! It's seasoned really well! You can have it on your rice plate as well! It's my son's favorite and we've had to order a side of it cause he loves it! I usually order the rice vermicelli bowl, it's like a gigantic salad bowl for me and they add a different touch than what I've had at other viet places.

This place won't disappoint, I wish they were in a better spot so people can see them but it's nice to come when it's not crazy busy. I will be coming out here to get my Vietnamese fix cause I can taste the quality of the food :]

  • *****

From the moment we opened the door we were greeted in a friendly and genuine manner, not the usual perfunctory fake greeting you get in most restaurants nowadays. My boyfriend and I were getting take out, our first time here.
The young girl taking our order was so sweet and walked us through the menu with some suggestions when we asked.
We ordered chicken pho, shrimp spring rolls & chicken spring rolls. It was ready in 10 minutes and the girl who gave us our food was super nice too. Everything was delicious and fresh. Really enjoyed the flavors.
We will definitely come here again. Nice welcoming atmosphere and great service! Give it a go. People this nice (and food this good), deserve your business!

What a fabulous restaurant. We found this little gem here on Yelp and went for lunch yesterday. My family could not have been more pleased. The fresh Vietnamese food is absolutely delicious, the menu is extensive, they have vegetarian specialties, and the staff is delightful. If you are in the market for a great place to eat, come to this restaurant.

  • *****

Love the decor and food. I had the Bun bowl and my husband had the rice plate and they were both really good! I have had ph at many places and this is instantly one of my top two! The staff is really nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

  • *****

The pork chop and grilled pork are very delicious. Angie is very friendly, attentive and made sure that we have everything we need.

  • *****

Excellent service!! Very good food. Very fast service. I will be returning for sure :)

The owner came to personally introduce himself. That's amazing. Thanks for the great service!

  • *****

As we entered the restaurant we are promptly greeted by Reese who served as our tour guide through the menu. Ordered beef pho which was flavorful and fresh. Will definitely be
    Coming back

  • *****

Just had one of the best bahn me sandwiches ever! Had the bbq pork and loved it. First time and will definitely be coming back for more.

  • *****

This Vietnamese resto is great, from food to customer service. The owner , jacki, is duper super provigubg excrllent service. Food is on time , clean place and you can tell the quality of food they serve. Try their tri-color halo-halo. I go 4.almost 4 times a week.

  • *****

It was our first time here and they were very excited to help us out. The egg rolls were amazing! The owner came up to us and welcomed us also. Service was good!

  • *****

Favorite pho place in San Marcos! It's like a modern pho shop with authentic Vietnamese food. Every time I eat there they always provide excellent customer service. Not only the pho is delicious, but their rice entrees, vermicelli, banh mi, egg & spring rolls are great as well!

  • *****

We came here for the first time today, food was incredible but the service was even better. We will be back.

  • *****

Such a local gem! This place is a great stop to eat at if you're on a break from classes. Right across CSUSM, they even provide student discounts!!! Service is amazing and very helpful. Always a good time to stop by here. Pho is def authentic!!!

  • *****

Chef's pho continues to be the best Pho restaurant in San Marcos, in my opinion. Service is always great, food is still delicious. Our server, Louise, is amazing! Provides very fast service, always wants to make sure our experience here is satisfied, makes sure our waters are filled. I'm always having a great experience in this restaurant, and it is not too far from my house and cal state! Very convenient area for college students who want to have a delicious meal. In addition, they also provide student discounts!!

  • *****

Great food, very clean, but they play the music way too loud. Can't even have a conversation. They are responsive to requests and turned the volume down.

    Had the curry...excellent!

  • *****

Walked in and was immediately welcomed by Reese :)
Revived out appetizers right away and took some time to look over the menu. Our server , Reese, helped us decide. We got the Pho and Vietnamese Curry and that came out just as fast. Service was good and good even better

  • *****

Love this place! This is my go to spot in San Marcos for Pho. Highly recommended to anyone looking for authentic Vietnamese food!

  • *****

Theeee best veggie eggrolls. I call ahead to order them so they are ready when we get there. Solid pho - BOMB AF vermicelli. The staff is always attentive.

  • *****

Love this restaurant bcos the foods are delicious and the ambience are so cute and clean, highly recomended!

  • *****

The food is very good. The service is awesome and they have beer and wine. It is a very nice and contemporary environment. I would absolutely recommend this place!!!

  • *****

Great food if your looking for Vietnamese food in north county. Clean and super nice staff!! We are regulars here!

  • *****

Tucked away in a little corner of this shopping center, chef's pho is a quaint Vietnamese restaurant that has friendly staff and a very modern American ambiance. The decor is at a disconnect with the food, but I love the rustic look of the place. The food is pretty good too, with the broth being slightly sweet and deeply flavorful. I usually get the pho, obviously and it doesn't disappoint.

  • *****

Awesome Pho! Usually stop by Pho ca Dap but came by after an orientation at my college. Real authentic, freshly served Pho is what I encountered at Chef's. Five stars.

  • *****

Great place to catch a bite to eat (especially on hot days). Always friendly staff, good food, and A/C. Affordable, especially for college student. Recommend the rice and vermicelli dishes.

  • *****

Awesome pho with great prices and exceptional service! Im a lover of pho and this place tops my list!

  • *****

I'm from the north bay, driving down to LA for a wedding and didn't know what to do the next day. A friend of mine who's from San Diego said to try out Chef's pho. So I decide to try it out. The food was great. My brother tried the bun bo hue taste almost like how a Hue family would make at home, except it's not as spicy as how a Hue family would make. But it was still delicious. I had bun rieu, my favorite dish. It was hard to find a restaurant that makes good bun rieu, but this one was tasteful. It wasn't bland like others. I will definitely stop by next time when I'm in San Diego.

  • *****

Pho places are tough to find, this restaurant does a pretty good job. The other dishes are good. Grilled pork with a fried egg, spring rolls, and Vietnamese coffee are must tries...

  • *****

This was my first time eating at this facility and I loved it! Will be going back for more again soon. The fried egg rolls had so much flavor in them. I ordered the grilled chicken noodles and they don't put in a bowl so the veggies don't make it soggy. of course had to try their Thai tea with boba waa delicious did not disappoint. Looking for Pho check this place out.

  • *****

I've had every soup on the menu, the egg rolls, most of the spring rolls, and the grilled pork vermicelli. Everything is consistently delicious, well-seasoned, and at the optimum temperature. Service is always friendly, atmosphere is modern but not overwhelmingly hipster. These folks rival any place on Convoy or the like.

  • *****

Love this place! My family and I order out from here every Friday - it's become a tradition - Pho Fridays. The pho broth is SO good and everything tastes fresh.

  • *****

We were really looking forward to this restaurant opening because this would be the closest Pho restaurant to where we live.

    PROS:
    1) The decor was pleasant
    2) the staff was very nice and greeted us right away
    3) because it was within the first week of their opening they gave us a 10% grand opening discount, which was a very nice gesture that we didn't expect

    CONS:
    1) we wanted water and that took a long time to bring out (approximately 7 minutes)
    2) We ordered spring rolls and they, too, took a long time to be served (over 10 minutes). While they were as expected, they didn't bring us any appetizer plates to share the appetizer.
    2) because I had two children with me (7 and 12 years old), I ordered two kids size Pho soup for them. I have to say this was a huge mistake. Two problems: 1) the kids bowls were so small that you couldn't put any vegetables in it, otherwise, it overflowed! 2) the children's pho came with NO VEGETABLES!!! I had to share my vegetables (the bean sprouts, the mint, etc) with the kids. I'm the type who feels kids should eat as much vegetables as possible whenever they can.

Because the staff was very pleasant and they all worked hard to serve the customers, I'll definitely return again to test it out since it's been at least a month after their grand opening.

  • *****

Amazing atmosphere and good prices. The servers were kind of emotionless and did not talk at all except to tale order but other than that its great!!

  • *****

This restaurant is very clean and cute. They have a bar there which is different than most Vietnamese restaurants.
Service is not that great but the food is Outstanding!!! I'd only tried their Bun Rieu and it is the best in San Diego. The presentation, the soup the dipping sauce, the veggies, everything is perfect. 5 stars for the chef
I'll be back to try other dishes on the menu.

  • *****

Food is always great and fresh. Previously I had given them less stars but I'm glad I gave them another chance. Many times when I receive bad service I never go back. When te business opened it al seemed very unorganized waiters were all over the place and it seemed as no one knew what was happening. Nevertheless the food quality ALWAYS stayed the same . I highly recommend it. The spot is very nice, although parking can be challenging at times.

  • *****

Great looking pho restaurant probably the coolest one I've ever eaten at. Although I did not get to enjoy the bar, it's an option here. I had the pho special and it was filling and really tasty. Flavors were on point.

I would try again for sure.

  • *****

Excellent - We would give 10 stars if it was an option. The food is very fresh and the people who work here are friendly and helpful. We are so happy to have found Chef's Pho and Grill and though we usually take out we eat here because of the comfortable ambience.
    Love this place!

  • *****

Loveee the atmosphere and everything on the menu is sooo yummmy. I don't live close by but whenever I'm in the area then I would stop by Chef's Pho. Affordable and friendly service.

  • *****

Not only is the food absolutely delicious and plentiful they go above and beyond in customer service. No kidding the combo pho can feed 2 hungry people! The noodle house is very clean and trendy with big screen tv's. Jackie and his staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout our lunch here - they will let u customize any dish on the menu too. After walking out I almost wanted to sit back down and enjoy a couple more beers :) 5 stars hands down.

  • *****

I work close by and eat here at least twice a week. The flavor of their Pho is amazing and the service it fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

  • *****

I've been here before. Only I was with a group of people and we stayed to eat. the service was great, the food was excellent!

This time, my experience with my call in for pickup order failed. I tried to say what my name was on a few occasions Apparently it didn't stick. No big deal, I thought. they will just ask me what I ordered and I can be on my merry way. I was greeted at the door and said I was here for a pick up and gave her my name. she looked at the two bags on the counter, restated my name and said they are still working on it. I said ok and took a seat. About 10 minutes into waiting, I'm starting to look at the everyone behind the counter.

A few minutes after that, the guy who took my order finally put it together and said my order was ready and apologized for making me wait. It was just a miscommunication. Yeah, kinda figured.

Then I give him my debit card and it isn't working on the machine so I just handed over the cash for a quick getaway. I need to check the bank statement to make sure it didn't go through 3-4 times.

Anyway, note the 4 stars. This place is good. It was just an off day for everyone. I do think, if I call in an order again, I will use a very simplistic approach to my name. Oh, just one more thing. Sometimes, the music can be pretty LOUD!

  • *****

Whenever I stay in North County, I was looking for a good Pho restaurant, I tried a few
but finally found this good one! The ambiance is modern & clean, very comfortable, the staff were so nice & helpful. Finally, only after 10 min the pho soup came, it was the BEST!! I have come back many times and also take out this soup ( with 4 types of meat) but this is a winner!
Will try others on the menu soon on my next visit.

  • *****

I went here for the first time today, we had Great service and even better food. I will definitely return.

  • *****

great food, we got the chicken pho and shrimp plate, also the drinks are amazing!
the staff is very friendly, great addition to san marcos

  • *****

Everything tastes fresh and well cooked. Descriptive menu with good pictures to go along. Great first impression overall! Thank you!

  • *****

Great food and service. I have to take off one star for the unpleasant time when redeeming the certificate. The process is not very smooth. But the owner is very nice.

  • *****

Love the new pho spot! Nicely decorated, comfortable seating, and great customer service. I had a custom order pho that had a flavorful clean broth. All the extra condiments for the pho were clean and fresh. Also had an iced coffee with condensed milk to take back to work and that was well made and had a well balanced flavor. Took my coworker who is extremely picky and difficult to take anywhere, but she loved the place and the food. She had the chicken pho and she devoured that bowl like a beast. We also split an order of egg rolls and those dissapeared pretty fast from our plates. Like their shirt's say...this place is un-pho-getable!

  • *****

Everything was super delicious, service was awesome, and I am so glad they are here! I'm a non meat eater so it was great they had a whole section of the menu dedicated to us plant powered folks :)

  • *****

I've only tried a few things from this place but what I have tried is really good. In the 3 times I have been there the service has been hit or miss. On one occasion, the server who took care of us didn't even introduce herself she just walked up and said, "Are you ready to order?" I feel like that could be improved. Maybe she had too many tables to take care of. She seemed a bit overwhelmed. I guess my expectations when I go down to a sit-down restaurant is that I hope to have a little bit more interaction with the person taking care of me and that's part of why I would be willing to pay a little more for my meal: the meal, the ambiance, decorations, waitstaff, etc. I do find it odd that when you order your food from a server there is a number placed on your table. That seems like it shouldn't be the case since an actual waiter/waitress will take care of you at the table, but maybe the owners prefer to do it that way. I would recommend checking this place out if you enjoy Vietnamese food and pho soup as my food has been really good, hopefully they'll iron out the service kinks as time goes on.

  • *****

I had the grilled BBQ pork on vermicelli with egg rolls and jasmine tea It's one of my favorite things to order. The flavor of the meat was very good...it was as if I had grilled on my own BBQ grill in the backyard although I could never cook pork that tasty! Also, the server was friendly, attentive and recommended extra sauces from the table which i didn't think to try. The restaurant looks lovely inside - a nice place to get away. Should do very well next to CSUSM and San Elijo area.

  • *****

This place is the best Pho in San Marcos. Customer service is great, servers are polite, smile, prices are decent, the food is fresh and delicious. Nicely decorated, neat, everything was perfect. Definitely coming back!

  • *****

Great service, nice atmosphere, healthy and tasty food, awesome iced coffee! I'm hooked

  • *****

The pork spring roll was fabulous and the pho chicken broth delicious. Service picked up after 15 min and all were nice, humble, and worked as a team.

  • *****

Excellent, excellent pho. You will not be disappointed. The broth is exceptional. We are hooked . . . just ordered take out (again) for the 3rd time. Great prices and the customer service is great.

  • *****

Was craving a hot bowl of pho on a cold rainy day, so we decided to try this place out. Got the pho with grilled pork on the side and it was delicious! The broth was hot and flavorful. The spring rolls and egg rolls were good too. Definitely my favorite out of the 3 pho restaurants I've tried in San Marcos.

  • *****

Took the whole family for dinner last weekend. Food was good. As others say, the lg bowl of pho was on the expensive side. My food was late coming out, but the waiter was really great and brought me something extra while I waited. Chill atmosphere. We'll be back.

  • *****

Chef's is among the very best Pho restaurants I have ever been to. Always fresh and very tasty! If you love Pho you can't go wrong here.

  • *****

Must try this place!! Their fresh spring rolls are very good and we always get the chicken, shrimp and beef plate with rice and it'll feed two people. My boyfriend is obsessed with the beef and actually said it is probably the best grilled beef that he has ever had. Also the peanut sauce is amazing. I haven't tried the pho yet just because it's been too hot to be craving soup but I love their variety and definitely excited to try their pho soon! The atmosphere in the restaurant is super cute and cozy.

  • *****

I have been to this new pho spot at least 3 times a week since it's been opened I am so glad we got a new pho restaurant in San Marcos it is so awesome and the customer service is impeccable...

  • *****

Came to this place on a Monday for dinner. As we entered they greeted us and sat us down immediately. Brought us water right away. Gave us time to look at the menu. We ordered 2 large chicken pho and 1 large vegetarian pho with 2 Thai teas with boba (one w/ whip cream and one without) we waited about 10mins for 2 orders to come out but one of the orders didn't come out until we reminded them. (It took about 20mins to get the missing order) they apologized. That's the only reason why I gave 4 stars.

Overall we were very happy with our food. We definitely will be returning.

This was the first time I ever tried pho and it was so delicious. The staff is awesome as well. They were so welcoming and so friendly. Definitely a great experience and will be back again!

  • *****

Good location. Good pho. Nice ambiance. Service was a little chaotic. I understand that they just opened and still getting the hang of things.

  • *****

We were really forward to this restaurants opening because this would be the closest Pho restaurant to where we live.

Phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal, and completely unexpected. This is my new standard for Vietnamese food! The service was spot on, too. This place is new, so I hope they keep up the awesome job! I can't say enough good things. I ordered a dish with BBQ pork, and I don't think I have ever tasted anything as delicious as the flavorings that were used.

  • *****

Today was my second time there. Everyone is so warm and inviting. I really enjoy their pho and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try it. Plus they offer a student discount so don't forget to show your ID

  • *****

I am a pho snob and very hard to please. Walking into the restaurant it was hard to believe this place was ever a blockbuster. Probably the nicest Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been in. Waiters where very nice and helpful. We ordered the spring rolls and chicken pho. It was in the top 2 best pho I have ever had in my life. I will be a regular at this restaurant. They are still working out some of the kinks but the food is amazing!!! I can't wait to dine here again.

  • *****

LOVE that they opened up this clean and airy pho joint. It doesn't feel like a typical pho place with the nice dcor, however, the food speaks for itself. My hubs says the chicken is very fresh and tasty. The pho is light yet flavorful. The Thai ice tea is made from real tea - not the fake stuff. The wait staff is friendly. Why not 5 stars? I prefer a saltier broth, while I know others don't care for it. We will become regulars.

Wish they had egg noodles as an option and a super spicy soup options with levels of heat.

Let me also say we eat Pho 2-3x a week so we're serious diners. It passed our test.

  • *****

So excited to see this place open up! By far the most aesthetically pleasing pho place I've ever eaten at. The food is delicious fresh and the staff are super nice. I would give them an extra half star is possible because it's really really nice in here. Not your average pho place. Also the prices are still great, they didn't make it nice thinking they could hike the prices, still very reasonable. The Thai Tea is great with the whip cream on top!

  • *****

Great pho! Nice ambiance. Would have been even better if it would have been a bit bigger with a bar area. Not enough bars in San Marcos.

  • *****

We love this place. Best pho in town. Great quality, great price, kind and helpful wait staff and above all an exceptional kitchen. Delicious.

  • *****

I went in with my boyfriend during lunchtime on our school break. The restaurant was super cute. The service was fast and very friendly. The only thing that bothered me was how much fat i got in my chef pho special:( there was seriously more fat than meat. The Thai tea was good but the boba was a little bit undercooked. I love how they have a student discount. I will be back!

  • *****

Vegetarian pho and spring rolls avail. Nice fresh and crisp vegetables. Good flavor from sauces and garnish. Big portions. Yummy

  • *****

Brand new spot opened the other day. Went in for down pho tonight and to check the place out. Awesome interior and very friendly employees. They have a really cool bar set up and a few TVs around the room.

My girlfriend and I got rare steak pho. It was delicious. We will definitely be back here soon.

  • *****

Really great Pho and we really needed a good local Pho place. Enjoyed the Chicken as well as the Beef. Service is very friendly and attentive. Also, they have great portion sizes. The decor is pleasant and family friendly.

  • *****

What a delicious new pho joint. Delicious pho and grill plates. Give this place a try guys!

  • *****

The tall ceilings and the space is so amazing when you walk in making it very inviting. The food is the icing on the cake. I really enjoyed the Bun. It's nice to have this new Vietnamese restaurant so close to home!

  • *****

This place is great! Glad to have a good Pho place right across from school. Ask for sugar if you like your pho broth sweet!

This is def a family owned restaurant so please view it as such. Wait patiently at the host stand for your table. Be patient and don't expect corporate style restaurant service.

They don't have Pho Tai on the menu, so just CYO and order just the rare steak. The thai tea is good and the boba has the right amount of chew.

    Final tip, student discount

  • *****

Really great service and food, quick and clean. Great price as well. No complaints. : )

  • *****

This was our first time here, oh my it's good! I was thinking about it for days after and went back in the same week! I got the rare steak pho - added the brown sauce and it was the perfect amount of spice. We will be regulars!

  • *****

This is my first time here. I enjoyed the service and the food. They have so many kinds of spring rolls ! I can't wait to come and try the rest . I had their noodles with pork and egg rolls . We also tried their avocado smoothie. It was fresh !We will be back here. I'll try their bun bo hue next time ! It looks really good !

  • *****

    P. E. R. F. E. C. T i like it , the soups is really sweet , noodle smooth and seafoot's very good

  • *****

I'm so glad this place opened down the street! Finally some good food around here! Yesterday I had lunch and dinner here!

Pho is yummy. My favorite things are:
    -Grilled BBQ Pork
-Vietnamese Egg Rolls (could eat 100 of them)
-Rice (I'm so picky about rice and theirs is perfectly moist and fluffy!!)
    -Grilled Shrimp

The place looks amazing too. Not like a normal outdated Vietnamese restaurant. It's modern, but still authentic. The owner Jackie is so nice. He really knows how to make you feel welcome at his restaurant!

  • *****

Owned by the same family that owns Mr. Pho in Oceanside, I believe. So far, I've had the pho dac biet, the egg rolls, and the vermicelli with grilled pork, egg roll, and pork rind. Everything was delicious, well-seasoned, and at the optimum temperature. I'll definitely be frequenting this place more in the future.

  • *****

Ok so we hoped for good things when we saw a Pho restaurant coming soon to our little neighborhood-They did not disappoint :)

Wife had the steak Pho I had the chicken Pho and daughter had the chicken spring rolls and a small plate of grilled chicken and white rice! Everything was delicious -yay! We have a cool place to come for hot soup so close to home!! Love the cool vibe interior and music also-oh and very attentive service!

  • *****

First time here and overall had a great experience! My boyfriend and I were very pleased with dinner, service, and the ambience.

    PROS:
-chef's special pho was great. The broth was delicious and they were generous with their meat. That was my boyfriend's meal but I gave it a try.
-grilled beef with egg roll (bn) was just as great. The meat and veggies tasted so fresh and the combo of it all was amazing. It's not complete without pouring the fish sauce on top! The egg rolls... yum! Really good. I'll have to order that as an appetizer next time.
-Thai tea w/boba tasted good too
-the restaurant is very CLEAN. I'm sure customers appreciate that- especially the clean bathrooms
-nice ambiance. They even had a Halloween theme going on and it wasn't over the top.
-friendly service throughout. I believe it was the manager who was walking around too. He was helping serve customers and making sure we were doing fine.

    CONS:
-Thai tea serving (Or cup/jar) was pretty small for around $4-$5 (can't remember the price exactly). It was delicious but finished it with a few sips.

Overall, 5 stars! I would definitely come back!

  • *****

My family and I stopped in here for our Easter lunch. It was a really nice experience! The food was amazing, and the service was phenomenal. Reese was our server today and he made good recommendations on what to order. Our drinks were continuously filled, we were being attended to often, the waiters were just all friendly. Kudos to this location

  • *****

This restaurant is pretty good and very authentic our items were very fresh. I'll definitely be coming back here.

  • *****

There is a tv that that has some issues , but it's okay I think they should turn it off.

  • *****

I love this pho place! I've been to several around North County and I'd have to say that this is my favorite place. Their food is not too salty and not loaded with tons of MSG. This is definitely our go to spot for pho.

  • *****

The food is unquestionably good. I had the bun bo hue and my wife had the standard pho. Both dishes were very tasty, contained quality ingredients, and were good-sized portions. We also had a roll (nem nuong) for an appetizer and it was also very good. We have been to pretty much every pho place in north county and this place is probably second to Pho Ever in Vista. We'd definitely come back.

It's clear that customer service is a work in progress. Some of the servers are excellent and very attentive when possible. Other servers are just spaced out. I'm sure they'll improve over time. I would come when they aren't busy for awhile to let them iron out the kinks.

All in all, it's a good place.

    MARCH 27, 2017 UPDATE:

Came back again tonight and the food is still very good. But I am happy to report that they seemed to have ironed out their inconsistent service issues. Our server was Reese and he was outstanding. The other staff helped out seamlessly and the overall experience was good. Will return again.

  • *****

Starting with a fresh coconut water, yum. Had to have 2 double yum. The bah mi sandwich was tasty and fresh as well as the deep fried rolls with fresh basil and raw jalapeos. The steak with broken rice I had was so good. Can't wait to go back!

  • *****

Really good. When it come to PHO I'm picky but this spot clean n relaxing vibes with good foods.

  • *****

I had veggie spring rolls and a veggie bahn mi sandwich. Both were good, and the spring rolls were big! Staff was attentive and helpful.

  • *****

This was my first experience and it was amazing !!! Our waiter ( Reese) was the best super polite and always checking in with a great attitude. Highly recommend it

  • *****

The bahn mi were a little on the light side and the vegetables weren't as pickled as I'm used to but they were priced cheaply and included fresh ingredients . The two servers/hosts were both very nice and one even waited patiently to steep my Vietnamese coffee without too much milk, will be back to try some of their other dishes.

  • *****

The food here is amazing. I have had a few different things on the menu and never been disappointed. The only thing better than the food is the service. Very fast and friendly service. Everyone here is amazing and he good is great.

  • *****

My friend recommended me this place. Abby was my server and she recommended the best! If you're in the area definitely check this place out.

  • *****

Hi Ryan! My sweetheart, below. I waited so I didn't have to be on top of my him but looks like I am! Can't wait any longer, I have to tell folks about this place, one of our favorite spots and DEFINITELY our fav pho spot!

BEST pho in all of SD County and here's why:
I'm Vietnamese, I know my pho.
    Service, the girls are sweet!
    Priced right.
Clean, looks GREAT. Down to earth place with everything new and modern yet not too modern. Their chairs gives a feel of eating on clean comfortable cushions in the middle of a forest. It's just an all around nice place to eat comfortably without feeling too stuffy or plain. Chef Pho is warm and inviting...

They serve my two favorite dishes: com tam (broken rice), & pho. To me, they're perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients my palette sure appreciates! I love chicken curry and bun bo hue, too, but the other two dishes are so good i hadn't tried theirs yet.

    Why I love their Pho:
Is authentically cooked, not from powder and no msg. The broth flavor is just right and healthy, not watered down too much and overly flavored like other styles. Their tendons and meatballs are of the higher quality, but not homemade like my favorite place up in LA. Their rare steaks are fresh, so are the fresh noodles, broth, and fixings (vegs/greens). What seals the deal for me is their Nuoc Beo (green onion fat, always fresh). Pour that over your pho and yummm! I like my pho combination with steak on the side and Nuoc Beo and all the fixings (basil & bean sprouts). As for the fresh lime, chili sauce, and oyster sauce, I spread that over the rare steaks and eat it as a side.

They also have the BEST com tam in ALL of SD County! Trust me, I've tried them all, including the Pho. You can tell how fresh the ingredients are by how fresh tasting their tomatoes are, and all their vegs/greens are! Not of the higher quality like some of the amazing Italian tradittorias I've experienced, but hey, it's pho, where tomatoes are garnishment, not staples. Make sure to ask for broken rice, and extra green onion in garlic oil! Put a dab of chili, and pour (fish sauce) over! I like it with a fried egg :)

    Note to owner:
Most restaurants go down in quality over the years. Please do your best to keep this like so. I'd like to come back for more! :)
P.s. great job on the hiring. The girls are sweet and accommodating *-*

  • *****

Clean and nice decor, friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food. It's nice to have a different pho joint in San Marcos with different style spring roll and different soup options rather than regular pho such as the northern crab and beef stew which was so delicious. I also love their spring roll with added crunch in the middle like that of Brodard restaurant in Westminster. Will come back!

  • *****

When I first came here for my first time I wasn't so impressed but this is my second time here after a while I came back and the staff was so much better, especially our host Rachael . She was friendly, professional and considerate. I will definitely returning.

  • *****

Light and healthy, yet hearty and filling at the same time! So good! I picked up a bowl of chicken pho with all the trimmings and splurged on egg rolls on the way home from the office. We like it as spicy as we can stand it. Serious wife points! Thank you. So glad to have this delicious option close by.

  • *****

The Pho here is awesome and so is the rest of the items on the Menu!!! This restaurant has a nice ambience as you walked in, kinda like a pho lounge. Customer service is great.

  • *****

Had the Ban Mi beef and pork, both were very good. Also had the curry soup with chicken,it was good as well.

  • *****

What a great little place! My first time having Pho was a horrible experience and I never thought I'd like it again, but this place is another story. The pho is incredible! Super flavorful and delicious.

My boyfriend and I ordered egg rolls and spring rolls. The food came out in a great amount of time, the spring rolls I didn't care for at all. I didn't like the wrap it was in, it was very sticky and had a chewy texture. The egg rolls, were insanely good, so good in fact we had to order more since we only got 1 each. They were the best egg rolls we both have had. I ordered the crab soup and my boyfriend got the beef stew, both were phenomenal and packed with flavor. Perfect for a cold day, a sickness, or just because. The meat was very tender and juicy, and the broths were just amazing.

Service was probably some of the best service ever. I never saw the bottom of my glass, in fact I never even saw half of my glass. Drinks were constantly filled and we were very frequently checked up on. They have gained a forever customer, I will definitely be back to try more of their great menu.

P.s don't park on the side of the restaurant (even if there's no spots and you see other people doing it) you will get a ticket.

  • *****

    4.5 stars

I had the large briskett soup. Delicious, good sized portion.

The service was excellent. Smiles, patience quick on the refills, were all on display.

Competitive pricing. Offers student discount that actually makes it cheaper then every other Pho place ive been.

    Definitely coming back!

  • *****

Ok, I don't give 5 stars lightly. It takes 4 quality markers for me.
1-Atmosphere: It's open, modern & the decor beautiful.
2-Waiting Time: They were so busy but the whole staff was working non stop & doing it effectively at the same time.
3-Food quality & flavor was delicious. I will definitely be back.
4- Customer Service was impeccable. I haven't been treated this kindly in a while. I felt valued. I ordered the wrong item number & asked to send it back. My server Reese bent over backwards to make sure that I was happy & comfortable. He even made sure to ask when I would be back in & wanted to make sure that I would be. Just Wow! It doesn't happen these days.

I could not be back more impressed!

  • *****

I have been looking for really good pho and I finally found it. This place is incredible! I get the Chef's Pho every time and have yet to be disappointed.

And the staff is pleasant. Whenever you ask for anything, they do it with a smile on heir face and... it's genuine. I don't know who does the hiring and training here but I want to give them a high five!

  • *****

Food is delish, servers are nice and friendly but most of all attentive to my needs, wants and desire for a good dining experience. Shout out to a couple of my favorite waitresses Thu (To) and Jen... kudos to everyone and see you next time. Lol xoxo lol My favorite dish is the curry soup and so much more. Yum, yummers, yummers!!!

  • *****

Great service! Delicious authentic Vietnamese food! We ordered phó for takeout and it came with a bowl not just a styrofoam container. So considerate! This is our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! I Highly recommend it!

  • *****

    Always tasty. Love this place

  • *****

My wife and I tried this place for the first time and we will definitely be back!!!!.. The Pho was very good!!!. This might be our best Pho Restaurant to go to...

  • *****

Some of the best pho I've had in North county

  • *****

    We loved this place!

  • *****

The staff is very friendly and give some good dish recommendations. The food itself is very flavorful and unique. They were also totally cool with me studying for a little while after I ate.

  • *****

Food is delicious and muy authentica. I'm so excited to have an authentic Vietnamese restaurant near me. The menu is the real deal folks! They make my favorite soup that my mom make, banh canh, rarely found at Vietnamese restaurant. Seems like they are still working out the kitchen as food moves a bit slower than most pho noodles houses we are accustomed to. Be patient! It's well worth it. Now if they get banh xeo on their menu, I'll never have to cook again.

  • *****

We have eaten here several times now and the food is astounding. We have had the Vermicelli bowls, the Pho, the rice plates and every thing they offer that is grilled. All of it has been excellent, very flavorful and savory. We stick with chicken, beef and shrimp since neither one of us care for some of the more adventurous choices available. We have experienced top-notch service in each of our visits with servers who are attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. It has a family feel for us and we appreciate the convenience and quality as the restaurant is very near our home. I highly recommend the place and hope that all of you have as good an experience as we have had each time we have been there.

  • *****

When they opened up across the street from the campus I was so excited! It's my new favorite lunch spot when I get a break from classes. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Great for my college budget!

  • *****

My favorite place. ???????? Food is awesome. The staff really nice and friendly. I specially love their egg roll with fishsauce, combination of bbq beef, bbq chicken and bbq shrimp with steam rice. ...yummy! Do not forget to try bbq pork Pho noodle soup if you guys are fans of pho. My daddy ordered bbq pork chop with broken rice, it's so delicious. Lots of dishes we tried and we really really love their food. ????????????????????????

  • *****

    Food is GREAT!! AWESOME SERVICE!!!!

  • *****

I have been eaten there at least 40 times and it has always been excellent service and was always fast and excellent food. This is one of the best Pho places in San Diego. Love it and will visit it every week. My wife kids and grand kids love this place. The owner manager is a stand up guy.

  • *****

Staff is very friendly. Jackie was very warm and welcoming right off the bat! The food is exceptional and conveniently right across the street from my campus. I tried the vegetarian pho, amazing! Great flavored broth. All the ingredients tasted fresh. Will definitely be coming back here. 5 stars.

  • *****

Tried this after reading the stellar reviews. I had the P5 (chicken pho), hubby had the D5 (Vietnamese beef stew special), and kiddos had kids meals. Reasonably priced and SOO delicious!!! Already been back twice since out first visit

  • *****

I live in San Marcos, kind of near CSUSM, and pho is one of my favorite meals anytime of the week. Myself, as well with many other Millennials, have found pho to be a great meal after a night of partying lol. This place is definitely capitalizing on this opening up right across the street from the university.

Before this place opened, I was driving to Vista for pho, so it's nice to have a place close by for convenience. There is another pho place in San Marcos, but it's still out of the way in a junky shopping center.

This place is super nice, with an open dining area and really nice decor. It feels new and clean, and that's always a plus in any dining experience. Their service was great, and offered me a 10% student discount.

Their egg rolls were just okay, but their rice plates and pho were really good. Their pho broth is on the sweet side, if you like your pho like that. I'm a huge fan of smoothies, but they were out, and I got a Thai tea. It was really good! I'll definitely be back and I'm happy to have a decent pho place nearby.

  • *****

Just discovered this place, and have only been once, but I was impressed with what I got and what I smelled of my friend's food! Cool atmosphere, not the usual, but low key and casual. The food is very flavorful, and well presented! We all liked what we got, I had the chicken plate, but will try the curry soup next time, it smelled awesome! Not too pricey, and good service as well, I will be back!

  • *****

I am so glad Jackie opened this amazing Ph place so close to my house! Everyone is so friendly (like family) and the food is Phnominal and Unphgettable! Reasonably priced and a very good selection. The egg rolls are to die for. Large screen TV's and beer and wine coming soon. The atmosphere is great too! Not your usual Ph place. Highly recommend.

  • *****

I came across a 10% off coupon in a local newspaper for San Marcos that was promoting the grand opening of this place so I decided to come and try it out since I LOVE viatnamese food. I think they are definitely aiming to please and bring in the younger demographic since the college is right across the street. Upon arriving I thought the place was super nice. The music that was playing was lot of the popular recent music that has come out so that was refreshing for me. I love the way the place is set up. The decorations are so nice and its huge inside. They sat me and my family at a booth and it was perfect for us. I highly appreciate that they have a vegetarian section on their menu, that's always a big +. I ordered the vegetarian vermicelli and it DID NOT disappoint. The portion was fair and it was fresh and delicious. My fianc got the chicken and he enjoyed his as well, although he did complain that his didn't come with an egg roll like mine, but it was probably just an extra add on that we forgot to mention to the waiter. I would definitely be back to try other things on their menu. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the service was pretty slow and i think compared to other places in the area this one is a little bit pricier. Overall - beautiful restaurant, good food, go try it!

  • *****

Been here once for dine in and have ordered take out several times. Staff is very friendly. Always ordered the Bahn Mi. Have yet to try the pho.

Back to the Bahn mi. Super delicious and satisfying for lunch break. Iced coffee and Thai iced tea is also delicious.

Glad there is a pho/Bahn mi place close by.

I'm writing this review more for the owners/employees that hopefully read these.

I Immediately fell in love with this place the first time I came here with my boyfriend. I got the seafood pho and that's all I've gotten every time I come here because I love it so much. The only reason I'm taking away one star is because, while the service is not the worst I've had by any means, it is a little awkward and hard to not think about every time we come here. I want to give the servers the benefit of the doubt since they all seem very young, but every experience we have with them is awkward or the waiter comes on too strong. They also tend to mess up on things/forget to bring our check back or something like that, which is awkward for us because then we have to get up and ask them which makes us feel bad too. Still, I will continue to come back because I do like this restaurant and want to see it do well and update my review to a 5!

  • *****

The pho here is AMAZING! I've been here twice now and my first experience was better than the second because it wasn't busy the first time I went. It's near the CSUSM campus so it gets busy at the end of the day as students are getting out of class. Their service is pretty slow when they're busy but the food makes up for it, which is why I only gave this place 4 stars. They have student discount too!

  • *****

The atmosphere was relaxing. Good place to eat, chat and gossip. Started with shrimp spring rolls appetizer. I had meatloaf with pork chops and my daughter enjoyed her seafood pho. Would go back to try other items on the menu.

  • *****

Wow opening week and I'm super impressed! The normal pho phare was tasty. Fresh spring rolls held the appropriate proportions of crisp veggies, pork and shrimp. The fried ones were equally scrumptious and came out nice and crispy and not oily.

I ordered the combo pho and all of the ingredients were fresh, the broth piping hot and the flavors clean and bright. The veggie pho was light and came with the normal mix of carrots, broccoli and onions. We missed the Bok Choy but were pleasantly surprised by the tender forest shrooms! If you don't like cilantro be sure to let them know because they assume you love the pungent love-it-or-hate-it herb.

Broth was tasty and meats were lean. I enjoyed having a a finished bowl without the extra leftover fat and gristle at the bottom. Also mentionable was the noodle texture that didn't break up with the normal chopstick noodling...hate when that happens.

Portions of soup were smaller than expected in the extra large serving but the quantity and quality of meat made up for the smaller bowl and soup volume.

Service was friendly and about as attentive as any other pho noodle spot. Place was about 25-35% capacity on a weekday evening so I am curious to see how they can handle a full house.

All in all a 4.5 star experience rounded up for their performance so early in their opening.

  • *****

Awesome food!!! The egg rolls were amazing probably some of the best I've had. I would give 5 stars if the sodas weren't canned sodas i'm glad I asked ahead of time because it is not specified on the menu!

Overall great place will be back!!

  • *****

Amazing. My son was sick and asked to come. Very good and great to have a place so close. The curry is so good I could dive in. So yummy. Will be back

  • *****

Probably the best pho place in San Marcos, and I'm usually not a big fan of pho but this place made me think otherwise. Honestly waaay better than Pho San Marcos and better service too! Every time I go here, I will get the usual egg rolls for appetizers and maybe I'm overexaggerating but they are soo delicious and crunchy, especially when you dip it in the sauce, it's heaven in my mouth. For my main course I usually order the rice vermicelli with shrimp and egg roll on top, but today I went all out and tried their bbq pork banh mi, rice vermicelli with beef and egg roll on top, and pho with chicken. I underestimated my stomach because I was instantly full after finishing my pho and a quarter of my rice vermicelli. These dishes will definitely fill you up and leave you satisfied. Now I'm excited to go home and eat my left overs for dinner! The service here is great, very attentive to their customers which is a plus for me. The interior is very modern and hipster looking, and the whole place feels calming, which is perfect with their comfort food. I also love how it's close to school and my apartment, so if I ever feel like craving Vietnamese food, it's only a 5 minute drive! This place also offers student discount, so always bring your school ID if they check!

Great new pho spot off twin oaks. We were crossing our fingers that this place would be good and it did not disappoint! Ordered two spring rolls (grilled steak and sugarcane shrimp)-- both were very good, the sugarcane one had a bit of a sweet crunch inside which was delish. I had a classic pho and portion was your standard size (read, very big) but they definitely didn't skimp out on the quantity of noodles or quality of the meat! Hubby had steak and shrimp over rice and loved the fresh off the grill taste everything had.

Contemporary, hipster-lite vibe, with a nice bar, TVs and beautiful Vietnam mural. Also looks like they had some strong vents in the ceiling and some ceiling fans, but alas-- I still smell like pho (albeit not as strong as other places).

Looking forward to coming back and getting a smoothie (blender didn't arrive yet) and trying their banh mi sandwiches!

    Pros
    - beautiful ambiance, definitely modern and hip, but still showcases Vietnamese culture
    - delicious, high quality food!
    - wide variety!

    Cons
    - boba balls were a little bland, but this isn't a tea shop
    - grilled food came out maybe 5 minutes after the soup food.
    - sliiiiightly understaffed for opening week, had to request water re-fills (though it was very prompt when requested)

So excited I don't have to drive down San Marcos blvd or down to Bernardo center for good pho anymore!

I love trying new businesses, so when I saw there was a new Vietnamese restaurant near my aunt's house, I eventually made my way over to try it. Honestly I was pulled in by their Bahn mi which were all priced under $5.

I walked in on a hot day and was greeted by the owner Jackie with a cold glass of water. The friendly server Macy took my to-go order, and Jackie threw in a sample of their meatballs since they didn't have enough for a whole sandwich. The sandwich was great, with perfect crispy bread and tasty ingredients. One of the best banh mi I've had outside of Vietnam.

I'll definitely be back to try their spicy beef noodle soup. And I'm sure I'll get the Bahn mi again!

Found this new Pho restaurant hidden away. We went for dinner with the kids. It was nice and clean and the servers were pretty friendly. I ordered some Thai ice tea with my pho. It came in a cute mason jar, but I was hoping for a larger quantity. We also had some spring rolls and eggs rolls. My kiddos seemed to have loved the egg rolls, but my husband and I enjoyed the spring rolls...nice and crisp and fresh veggies were used.

Definitely a good place to bring kids. It wasn't too quiet as there were 3 large TV to watch. The kids meals were very simple. My kids had the rice with grilled chicken...and it was as it sounds like....white rice topped with grilled chicken. It came with a side of lettuce, tomato and cucumbers. I added some.spy sauce to the rice for a bit of flavoring.

I would have given it a 5 star, but the women's room toilets were not so pleasant. The actual restroom was very clean though.

Decent quality for San Marcos with friendly service, nice decor and reasonable prices. It's located next to the also new wings n things.

I tried their Bun Bo Hue my first time and bun rieu another time. Both were pretty good but I'd say not the best. What I enjoyed most was their herbs, always very fresh and their onions tasted fantastic! I also had a taste of their regular pho and duck noodle soup. The broth was good but could have more layers. I wish they use filet mignon for their pho! The egg rolls were on the salty side and their spring rolls were a bit bland.

This spot is great for the college area, however, for people like us who want more from Vietnamese restaurants would not mind driving farther to Vista or Oceanside for better food. It's nice to see a new business opening up! I hope they keep improving on their flavors and do better every day.

I was honestly so surprised when I walked in here -- it's so nice inside! The ambiance is pretty and the layout is nice and spacious so that you're not too close to other people dining. And for big parties, they have long tables cafeteria style seating.

The pho is really yummy, perfect for a rainy day like today. The thai iced tea is normal, but I wasn't too much of a fan of the boba; it was hard and dry.

The service was fast, but a little disconnected. Both times I've been here, our waiter forgot something. And one of the times, they mixed up my bill with another table's. But overall, those were small mishaps.

The location is great, right across CSUSM and business. Perfect for stopping in on a lunch break!
